Mobile Monday Nigeria and local payment providers in Nigeria have launched a developer contest aimed at driving adoption of payment apps with $300,000 in advertising and prize money up for grabs.

The competition named “DevCon Alpha: Build with Verve – Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 Edition” is co-sponsored by Microsoft, Nokia and Verve International. As a developer, you stand a chance of winning $300,000 in Marketing and Prizes by participating in this contest.
In app purchases and mobile payments needed
The contest is aimed at encouraging developers in Nigeria to integrate the Verve Payment SDK into their Windows Phone and Windows 8 Applications in order to accept payments and offer in-app purchases. Verve’s mission is to transform the way payments are done by providing alternatives that meet the specific needs of all African consumers and business.
Deadline 31st March 2014
The Grand Finale of DevCon Alpha will hold on the 31st of March 2014 at the Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel (292B Ajose Adeogun St, Victoria Island, Lagos.). Shortlisted contestants will be invited to present their completed apps and the Judges will announce the Winners. To find out more click here.
