Kenya: Two days left to enter Techno App Challenge

Tecno App Challenge 2014. Kenya’s mobile application development trainer Zalego and phone manufacturer Tecno have come together for the second time to launch the Tecno App Challenge 2014 that will see winners walk away with devices and cash prizes.

The deadline for submissions on January 31, 2014 and the competition aims to identify talent as well as potential future partners and employees for the Hong Kong-based phone manufacturer.

The two organizations also say the challenge will motivate and reward excellent Kenyan android developers.



According to Zalego founder Eric Mutuku, the challenge offers developers the opportunity to meet potential investors and strategic partners.

“I believe we have a lot of creative and innovative developers who have amazing solutions for different industry verticals. I urge developers to not keep these creative applications in their laptops but to let the world know about their solutions,” he says.

Winners announced in May 2014

The challenge that will announce the winners on May 31, 2014 will present the top application the Platinum Award of Kshs 300,000 while the first runners up will receive the Gold award will part with kshs 200,000 and the bronze award winners will get Kshs 150,000 as well as Tecno devices for all winners.
