Kenya: BarCamp 2014 comes to Mombasa

barcamp-msa2BarCamp will be hosted by the Mombasa Tech Community on March 29th and welcomes techies, bloggers, entrepreneurs and anyone who can make it a great event.

No agenda
The informal event is open to all and has no agenda. The attendees decide how the event is run, and vote on which topics and speakers get to present. Set to take place from 8am – 4pm, BarCamp is an intense event packed with intellectual discussions on technology and other fun, random interesting topics.  BarCamp Mombasa has been sponsored by Intel , iHub  and new cloud firm Angani.

BarCamps are open, participatory workshop-events, the content of which is provided by participants. The first BarCamps focused on early-stage web applications, and were related to open source technologies, social software, and open data formats. An unconference is a participant-driven meeting that tries to avoid one or more aspects of a conventional conference, such as high fees, sponsored presentations, and top-down organization.
