DEMO Africa Lagos is fast approaching and the organisers have shared the latest lineup for the event with Appsafrica. On the list are names of some of the most influential business and technology personalities in Africa.
These include Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of Heirs Holdings and founder of Tony Elumelu Foundation; Baybars Altuntas, Vice president of The European trade Association for Business Angels (EBAN); Fernando de Sousa, the General Manager, Microsoft for Africa initiative; Jason Njoku the founder of IROKO and John Momoh, the CEO, of Channels TV, Nigeria.
Key guests at the event have been scheduled to exchange ideas at the Angels Investors Summit, which holds on the 24th, allowing “a knowledge exchange between the continent’s various angel investors and map out the future of angel investing in Africa,” explains Evelyne Wangui, DEMO Africa.

Future of Angel Investing
The Angels Investors Summit event is the first time networks like the Angel Africa List, Cairo Angels, the Lagos Angels Network, the Ghana Angel Investors Network, Africa Angels Network and others are coming together to talk about “the Future of Angel Investing in Africa”. Experts from infoDev, the WorldBank, the African Development Bank, (the European Business Angels Networks), the VC4Africa Investor Network and others have also been invited to join the conversation.
The investor summit will focus on knowledge exchange between the different angel investors and angel investor networks and focus on the roadmap of the future of angel investing in Africa.
The program will consist of speakers, break-away sessions and fireside chats, as well as international and local angel investors, impact investors, venture capital funds, corporates (corporate venture capital); all focused on early stage SMEs investing.
DEMO Africa is the flagship initiative of the Liberating Innovation in Opportunity Nations or LIONS@FRICA partnership, an innovative new partnership aimed at enhancing and deepening startup and innovation ecosystems of fast-growing African economies.
DEMO Africa 2014 is scheduled to take place between 22nd and 26th of September at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos, Nigeria. Participants registration is already open.
