Airtel has unveiled the ‘Always On’ data campaign for Nigerian customers, particularly the youth segment to drive data usage and keep Nigerians always on the internet.
Data is key battleground
As reported by Appsafrica, Airtel recently launched affordable data bundles for Android users in a bid to win the operator battle in Nigeria. This also followed on from the WTFB initiative aimed at the youth market to provide easy access to key social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter and BBM.
To enjoy the full benefits of ‘Always On ’, customers will need to dial *401#. On activation of the package, customer is charged N5 daily and offered 1MB data plan. At the exhaustion of the 1MB data plan, the customer begins to pay 1kobo per kilobyte which is the ‘out of bundle’ rate for this package, as against 5 kobo per kilobyte which is the ‘out of bundle’ rate for existing plans. The Always On package allows the customer to always be connected on the internet with unlimited access at very affordable rate. The package attracts a daily service charge of N5.
